What is a Super Visa?
For faster family reunification, Citizenship and Immigration Canada has introduced Super Visas for parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents in Canada. If you have parents or grand-parents planning to visit on a Super Visa, they must provide evidence of Canadian medical insurance for a minimum of $100,000 coverage for 365 days when they apply for their Super Visa.
- The Parent and Grandparent Super Visa is a multiple-entry visa for a parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada
- It is valid for up to 10 years
- Family members can stay up to 24 months at a time
If visitor needs to see a doctor for a medical emergency, then visitor must call the Assistance Centre and quote their policy number before receiving treatment, If visitor decides to stay for more than one year then they will need to purchase a new VTC policy prior to the expiry of the old policy.
